Situated in an area of unique beauty the Alpinia Botanical Garden stretches across 4 hectares 800 meters above the town of Stresa. It is easily reached by following the road to Mottarone peake. Above all the garden is known for its collection of plant species native to the alpine and subalpine zones of the Alps but it also has a remarkable collection of plants of the Caucasus, and of China and Japan. Alpinia Botanical Garden is open everyday from April 4th to  October 15th , from 9.30 a.m. to 18.00 p.m..
